Michigan colleges and universities received more than $1 billion in federal Pell Grants in the 2011-12 school year. The money is passed on to students to be used for tuition and other educational costs. Search this database for how many people at your school got the grants and how much money came to the school.
Over half the KVCC student population is receiving aid and the college receives approximately $21 million for these students. Part-time faculty teach 60% or more of these students, accounting for $1 million in part-time salaries. Who is receiving the other $20 million?...those who have NO student contact.
ReplyDeleteThe majority of the monies mentioned in this article DOES NOT go toward the education of these students.
